2023: ZS drives impact in healthcare and beyond

2023 has been a big year for ZS. Across the globe, ZSers have come together, using their passion for innovation to improve health outcomes for all. To celebrate the hard work of our global team, let’s look back at the milestones we reached in 2023.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary

In 1983, Andy Zoltners and Prabha Sinha partnered to form a consulting firm that set out to innovate in healthcare and beyond. Their work has expanded into long term partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, over 35 offices worldwide and more than 13,000 ZSers who use their passion and expertise to transform global healthcare. This year we celebrated 40 years and looked ahead to 40 more.

We continued making a difference for clients and their customers through innovative solutions

Leveraging data, science and technology, we made significant strides in driving a connected healthcare ecosystem, paving the way for more intelligent decision-making and groundbreaking solutions that improve health outcomes worldwide.

Inspiring stories brought our impact to life, highlighting how we worked hand-in-hand with clients to plan reimbursement for monitoring Parkinson’s disease, remake a go-to market strategy for an agricultural inputs leader, achieve market access for a sleep apnea therapy and help a large biopharma company transform their sales incentive compensation.

We launched ZS Discovery to help clients reinvent pharma, interpret disease biology, innovate novel therapeutics and accelerate drug development to create breakthrough science and increase the probability of R&D success and patient outcomes.

To help our clients solve their most complex problems, we teamed up with a large network of premier partners to strengthen the solutions we develop and deliver. We continued to build on and expand these strategic partnerships in 2023, including an extended partnership with Informatica

Our collaborations extended beyond our strategic partnerships to include industry leaders and subject matter experts in conversations surrounding 2023’s most pressing topics, like the need for an equitable health system, a new look at how we think about obesity and the critically important patient stories that remind us of our purpose.

We were proud to be recognized by the White House and the United Kingdom at the Summit for Democracy for our award-winning privacy-enhancing technologies. We also continued to be recognized amongst our industry peers by analyst firms Forrester and IDC

We harnessed the power of AI through acquisitions, partnerships and products

With the most innovative technologies powering our solutions and deep AI experts on our team, we made progress toward transforming the future of healthcare and other industries.

We collaborated with the World Economic Forum on a report that highlights the transformative potential of AI in healthcare and the importance of public-private collaboration in driving its global adoption.

We also introduced AI-powered solutions including Trials.ai, which uses AI to help clinical development teams design smarter studies, optimize the participant experience and deliver pharmaceutical therapies to market faster.

This year saw the expansion of our ZAIDYN™ platform with the launch of ZAIDYN Connected Health, a suite of solutions to help pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers and payers understand unmet needs, better engage with patients and improve health outcomes.

In an ever-evolving healthcare ecosystem, our team is helping bridge gaps in healthcare and drive a patient-centric future. We’re poised to optimize patient experiences, enhance patient engagement and design interventions that lead to better solutions.

We furthered our commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace

ZS prides itself on the efforts we put into creating a diverse and inclusive workplace culture—because when we diversify the minds behind our innovations, we can reach more people, reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes. Among the many initiatives we pursued this year, we continued Path to Principal, an equity-based leadership program for women managers in India, and we kicked off the Stay Taskforce, an initiative that identifies hurdles and successes in representation, retention and sense of belonging of ZSers.

We made progress across our environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments

We strive to deliver healthy, fair and sustainable outcomes by integrating ESG priorities into our work, partnerships and operations. In 2023, we published our first ESG report, which tells the story of our fight to advance health equity, empower our people to make a difference and operate sustainably and responsibly. This summer, we earned a Silver rating from Ecovadis, and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved our near-term emission reduction targets. Both accomplishments are a testament to the steps we are taking to live our values and do the right thing of operating equitably, sustainably and responsibly.

We continue to make our communities healthier places to live

By partnering with clients and nonprofit organizations, ZSers worldwide find unique ways to make our communities healthier places to live. This October, more than 1,600 ZSers across 31 offices spent over 7,000 hours volunteering on ZS Cares Dayour annual day of giving. Throughout the year, ZSers also partnered with community organizations and invested over $1 million to bolster health equity and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in the U.S. Meanwhile, in India, we have partnered with education and healthcare organizations on initiatives that benefit 5,000 children and 16,000 other individuals, and we have planted 9,000 saplings across the country as part of our climate action efforts.

We expanded our reach and impact

Hiring and promoting ZSers means empowering more people to become innovators. This year, we expanded our reach with a new office in Noida, India. We partnered with one of our top clients to open an Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Chennai named YODAc (Your One Stop Shop for Data & Analytics Center) , bringing together many capabilities like business data operations, data quality management and global analytical production. Lastly, we promoted over 1,200 ZSers over the summer—reinforcing that ZS is a place where people can shape their journey and thrive in their careers.

We earned global accreditation for our work, culture and commitment to operating responsibly

We treat people right, get it right and do the right thing. And we have built a culture distinguished by collaboration, growth, empathy, equity and empowerment. This culture earned ZS ISO certification for psychological safety in the workplace and recognition as a best place to work by Built In and Fairygodboss. Our full list of awards also includes Avtar’s Top 10 Best Companies for Women in India and Great Place to Work accreditation in India, the U.S., U.K., Germany and Switzerland. We also received a new certification, CMMI Maturity Level-3, for our technology team. This certification speaks to our commitment to improving our performance and delivering the highest-quality products and services.

These accomplishments are possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of ZSers around the world. Together, we collaborate to develop creative solutions to complex problems in healthcare and beyond. To stay informed of all the work ZS does, follow us on social media.
