All around the world, ZSers live our values of treating people right, getting it right and doing the right thing. With more than 35 offices in 17 different countries, ZS takes pride in assuring all ZSers experience a safe and welcoming work culture. In fact, ZS was the first organization in India to receive ISO certification for psychological safety in the workplace. After working in ZS offices in India and Argentina, business technology solutions associate consultant Divay Arora says he feels this commitment to inclusion across ZS.
Where passion changes lives
Divay joined ZS as an intern immediately after college. When based in New Delhi, he worked on projects to help develop innovative technology solutions for complex healthcare problems. “ZS is like a second home to me,” he says with a warm smile. “I’ve always felt safe expressing myself at work. Most of my colleagues and teammates knew I was gay. They were all accepting, so I really felt like I could be myself while working at ZS in India.”
When presented with the opportunity to move to a different office and work in Buenos Aires, Divay eagerly accepted. “I was pretty excited about the move because I wanted to live in a country with such a vibrant and open LGBTQIA+ community,” Divay says. “One of the first things I did when I moved was join Pride@ZS.”
ZS has a diverse and global network of various employee-led and sponsored groups, such as Pride@ZS. Active around the world, this group fosters a community of LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies who strive to promote a culture of belonging at ZS through social events, knowledge exchange, community outreach and more. Over the years, Pride@ZS has made many strides in fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all ZSers. In partnership with HR and senior leadership, the group has promoted gender-inclusive hiring practices, anti-discrimination policies and more. Thanks to these policies and the continued work of our ZSers, ZS earned the Equality 100 Award from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index, the highest achievement an inclusive company can receive.
In Buenos Aires, Divay helps plan Pride@ZS events throughout the year. “This isn’t a community that’s only active one month out of the year,” he says. “Our calendar is full. We consistently offer events, webinars and volunteer opportunities that make a difference in supporting our local community and educating allies.”
Most recently, Divay helped bring Pride@ZS to Argentina’s Pride march in November. A team of ZSers gathered, dressed head to toe in glitter and marched through the streets of Buenos Aires, celebrating their rights, culture, love and joy.
“I like to express myself freely and was nervous about whether I would be able to do that in a corporate setting,” Divay recalls. “I am so happy to say that it’s been four years and I have never felt even an ounce of nervousness about being myself at ZS.”
