During ZS Cares Day, ZSers in India planned an eventful day of nearly two dozen activities, including fun-filled learning experiences with children, environmental conservation initiatives, health camps and creative workshops. ZSers in Gurugram and Noida partnered with the Jeevan Stambh Foundation to organize a health camp aimed at improving healthcare access in underserved urban areas of Delhi. A group of 25 volunteers worked diligently to ensure that 800 beneficiaries received essential health check-ups and healthcare services. In addition to medical care, ZSers also led awareness campaigns, highlighting the importance of community health and wellness.
ZS’s collaboration with the Jeevan Stambh Foundation during ZS Cares Day is part of a broader commitment to improving healthcare access in India’s underserved communities. This partnership has been ongoing since 2019, with ZSers regularly organizing health camps in urban slums to provide essential healthcare services and education. In addition to direct healthcare access, these initiatives emphasize health literacy, aiming to create lasting community impact by promoting wellness and prevention.
In Singapore, 18 ZSers volunteered at the Asian Women’s Welfare Association’s Special Student Care Centre (SSSC), which provides after-school care for students with additional needs or disabilities. Volunteers organized sensory activities and games, offering these students a fun, engaging experience. The efforts created a memorable day for the children while easing the workload of the center’s dedicated staff.
ZSers come together to improve life and how we live it, with a shared commitment to ensuring everyone has access to healthy food. Through global volunteer efforts, ZSers dedicate their time and resources to supporting local communities and making a tangible impact on lives. In Boston, ZSers partnered with Pine Street Inn, preparing meals for people experiencing homelessness. In Kingston, 30 ZSers collaborated with Open Arms Center, donating essential food supplies to a local shelter. Meanwhile, in Berlin, ZSers rolled up their sleeves to assist Berlin Tafel, a local food bank, packing over 400 bags of food for individuals and families facing food insecurity. These collective efforts make a meaningful difference for those relying on these vital services.
ZSers in Princeton turned their attention to supporting the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC). A team of 10 volunteers assembled 20 chemo care bags, each filled with essential and comforting supplies for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. These small gestures of care and support offer comfort during an incredibly challenging time.
ZS’s oncology work focuses on advancing innovative treatments, such as therapeutic cancer vaccines, which are poised to revolutionize standard cancer care. With over 400 clinical trials underway, ZS is helping to accelerate the development of these promising therapies. By leveraging advanced technologies, such as AI and genetic sequencing, ZS is working to address the unmet needs of patients at various stages of their cancer journey, including those with limited treatment options.
Additionally, ZS’s research highlights the importance of improving connectivity between oncologists, patients and healthcare providers, particularly when managing complex treatment regimens like immunotherapy. ZS supports oncology teams by developing solutions that enhance data sharing and patient care coordination, which is critical for improving outcomes in cancer treatment.
ZS Cares Day serves as a powerful reminder of the collective impact ZSers can have when they unite for a common cause. Whether through packing food, mentoring youth or assembling care packages, each volunteer effort on ZS Cares Day brings hope, support and tangible benefits to communities around the world.
